Grinnell men's golfers fire 324 on opening day of Linda Lowery Invite

AUSTIN, Texas - Grinnell College's men's golf team fired a 324 in the opening round of the Linda Lowery Invitational Monday.

The Pioneers are ninth in the team standings, but just three strokes out of sixth place. Luke McCann '25 was the Pioneers' top shooter on the day, firing a 7-over-par 79 at The Hills of Lakeway. That is good for 22nd place.

He was followed by Ian Strawn '24 with an 80, Colin Byrnes '27 at 81, Eshaan Sethi '25 with an 84 and Thornton Walker '26 at 86.

Tyler Durden of the University of Texas-Dallas is the first round leader with a 71. UT-Dallas is also the team leader with a 295.

The meet continues Tuesday.
