Lucas Fadden places 8th in 100 dash at NCAA D-III Championships

awardMYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Grinnell College's Lucas Fadden '26 wrapped up his successful campaign Saturday night with an eighth-place finish in the 100-meter dash at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships.

Fadden, who entered the meet with the 15th-best time, ran the seventh-best prelim time in Friday's race at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium. On Saturday, after a lengthy weather delay, he posted a time of 10.65 seconds running out of lane 1 to secure All-American honors.

His eighth-place finish is the highest for Grinnell at the NCAA Championships since John Aerni was fifth in the 3000 steeplechase in 2001.

Fadden entered nationals as Grinnell's school-record holder in the 100 with a time of 10.49 and bettered that Friday with a clocking of 10.46.
