Grinnell runners make a mark on leader board at Kip Janvrin Open

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Grinnell College's men's track and field leader board saw substantial shuffling at the Kip Janvrin Open hosted by Simpson College Friday.

Ben Abelow '28 took 10th in the 5000-meter run, competing among a loaded field from all levels of NCAA as well as NAIA, with a time of 14 minutes, 43.46 seconds. That time ranks third in GC history and is just 2.26 seconds off the school record.

Luke Robinson '26 ran the 1500 in 3:56.93, which ranks third in program history and just .19 of a second out of second place.

Sebastian Manza '27 was 24th in the 3000 steeplechase in 10:00.44 and Andy Chestovich '26 placed 26th in the 800 in 1:55.98.
