GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College's star sprinters have swept the final Midwest Conference Track Performer of the Week honors for the 2024 outdoor season.
Eva Carchidi '24 has been named the Women's Performer of the Week for the third time in the outdoor campaign, and
Lucas Fadden '26 claimed the award on the men's side.
Fadden, from Duxbury, Mass. (Duxbury), shattered a 41-year-old school record in the 100-meter dash by sprinting to victory at the Monmouth Fighting Scot Invitational. Fadden's time of 10.49 seconds, which ranks 15
th nationally and first in the MWC, toppled the previous Grinnell mark of 10.59 set by Mike McCrary in 1981.
Carchidi, from Portsmouth, N.H. (Phillips Exeter Academy), has made a habit of breaking school records and continued that trend at the Monmouth meet. She won the race in 12.11 seconds, which ranks 41
st nationally and first in the MWC, to break her previous best of 12.24 set earlier this season. Carchidi also won the 200 in 25.55.
