GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College's women's cross country team put together a strong performance at its own Les Duke Invitational Saturday, putting all of its scorers in the top 12 while finishing second behind nationally-ranked Central College.

Hannah Roark '26 paced the Pioneers on the muggy day at the Grinnell College Golf Course, running the 6-kilometer race in 23 minutes, 31.5 seconds. That was good for sixth place in the 74-runner field.

Morgan Karow '26 was next in line for the Pioneers, placing seventh in 23:41.8. Taking 10
th through 12
th were
Crystal Kaczmarczyk '25 (24:15.6),
Genevieve Madigan '28 (24:23.8) and
Tennyson Shultz '28 (24:33.4), respectively.

Sindri Bonner '28 was 14
th in 24:40.4 and
Diana Barba '25 placed 15
th in 24:42.8.

Grinnell finished with 46 points, well ahead of third-place Simpson College's total of 73. Central won with 21 and had the individual champ in Payton Steffen, who ran 22:18.1.

Grinnell is off until Oct. 4 when it competes in the Pre-Nationals Meet in Terre Haute, Ind.
