Grinnell golfers jump up 2 spots in team standings on final day of Buena Vista Invite

STORM LAKE, Iowa - With Thornton Walker '26 leading the way, the Grinnell College men's golf team jumped from fifth to third on the final day of the Buena Vista Invite Sunday.

The Pioneers posted a repeat score of 313 Sunday at Lake Creek Country Club for a two-day score of 626, allowing them to jump over the host school and North Iowa Area Community College in the team standings.

Walker finished fourth of 49 golfers in the individual standings, carding consecutive 76s for a total of 8-over-par 152. Roger Smith '28 was next for Grinnell, tying for eighth with a 154. He had rounds of 79 and 75.

Eshaan Sethi '25 added a 79-80-159, Ayan Sheikh '28 posted a 79-82-161 and John Robinson '25 came up with an 87-84-171.

Two Simpson College golfers tied for first individually with 148s, while Loras College and Simpson shared low team score honors with 613s.
