Grinnell men's cross country kicks off 2024 campaign with strong performance at Central

Results

PELLA, Iowa - Grinnell College put three runners among the top nine as the Pioneer men's cross country team claimed second-place honors at the Central Dutch Invitational Friday.


John Miller '26 led the way for Grinnell, running the 6-kilometer course in 19 minutes, 17.8 seconds to  place fourth in the 100-runner field. Luke Robinson '26 was seventh in 19:33.8 and Connor Heagy '26 was ninth in 19:38.1.

Other scorers for the Pioneers were Sam Beck '27 (14th in 20:02.3) and Sebastian Manza '27 (17th in 20:28.4). Other top performers were newcomers Jason Newman '28 and David In '28, who were 18th and 19th in 20:32.6 and 20:39.5, respectively.

Grinnell finished with 51 points in the eight-team meet. The host school won with 25 points and had the individual champ in Jack Brown, who ran 18:49.0.

The Pioneers host the annual Les Duke Invitational next Saturday.
