GRINNELL, Iowa - Though it was just the first meet of the season, Grinnell College's Lucas Fadden '26 was running in historic fashion.

The Pioneer super sprinter became the third-fastest 60-meter dash performer in NCAA Division III history Friday night at the Grinnell Season Opener at the Bear Center Field House.

Fadden sprinted to victory in 6.66 seconds to break his own school and meet records of 6.72 established in the prelims. He also is the sole owner of the Field House record after tying the mark of 6.72 by Birmingham-Southern's Jamal Watkins at the 2016 NCAA Division III Championships.

Besides Fadden in the 60, George Stenberg '29 ran 7.00 in the finals to place third while posting the second-best time in GC history. Eli Grzelewski '29 ran 7.05, fourth all-time.

Jacob Schomberg '29 ran 9.22 in the 60 hurdles, fifth all-time at GC, while Clawson's runner-up throw of 13.99 meters in the shot put ranks 10th in GC history. In the weight throw, Caleb Leopoldo '28 and Jake Bell '27 posted the eighth- and ninth-best performances at Grinnell with efforts of 13.53 meters and 13.40, respectively.

The 4x200 relay team of Grzelewski, Christensen, Stenberg and Quentin Kelley '29 was third in 1:32.75, sixth in GC history.
