GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College's Sam Rudenberg '25 has been named the Midwest Conference Men's Tennis Performer of the Week.
 
The heroics of Rudenberg, who is from San Diego, Calif. (La Jolla), lifted Grinnell to a 4-3 season-opening victory over Augustana College Saturday. With the squads tied at 3-all, Rudenberg won the first set at No. 5 singles 6-4 before losing the second. Down 5-3 in the third set and trailing 40-0, he shut down four match points to win the game. He held serve to force the tie-breaker down 6-5, and went on to win that tie-breaker 7-2 to secure the Pioneers' victory.

Rudenberg also teamed with Wilder Cooke '25 to post a 6-4 victory at No. 2 doubles.
