Grinnell boasts pair of event champs at Monmouth meet

MONMOUTH, Ill. - Grinnell College men's track and field athletes captured a pair first-place finishes at the Monmouth College Tuesday Night Special.

Champs were Xavier James '25 in the 400 hurdles with a time of 58.96 seconds and the quartet of Jake Logue '28, Jesse Miller '28, Keaton Fitzgerald '26 and Jake Warren '28 in the 4x100 relay in 44.06.

Grinnell got runner-up finishes from Miller in the 200 in 22.55 and Casey Oliveira '27 in the long jump at 6.14 meters. Ian Clawson '26 was third in the hammer with a toss of 49.88 meters, the same placing as Jacob Schomberg '28 in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:04.30.

Ilem Leisher '27 and James were fourth and fifth in the 110 hurdles in 16.99 and 17.37, respectively. Logue added a fifth-place finish in the 100 with a time of 11.28.
