GC women's golf team records 6th-best 2-day score in program history

Pioneers place 3rd in field full of nationally-ranked teams

WAVERLY, Iowa - The Grinnell College women's golf team wrapped up a chilly Wartburg Spring Invite Saturday with the sixth-best two-day score in program history.

The Pioneers followed Friday's school-record round of 286 with a score of 314 for a total of 600. That put Grinnell third in a 16-team field filled with nationally-ranked squads.

Vidushi Keni '26 was the Pioneers' top golfer, shooting a 76 Saturday at Prairie Links for an overall score of 3-over-par 147. That put her fourth in a field of 100 golfers.

Meilin Hoshino '27 had a 74 Saturday for a total of 149, good for eighth place. Kavya Keshav '26 finished 14th with an 82 Saturday for a total of 151. Amy Nguyen '26 was next in line for Grinnell with a 155 after shooting an 84, while Emily Lackershire '27 added an 82 for a 157.

Saya Geisendorfer '27 and Mary Li '25 tied with 158s after shooting 83 and 81, respectively. Waverly Yang '28 fired an 83 for a 160 and Sara Meneses '26 added an 83 for a 165.

Grace Petzold of St. Catherine University won the individual title with a 1-under-par 143, while Illinois Wesleyan won the team crown with a 587.
