Alex Doane is MWC Men's Tennis Player of the Week

GRINNELL, Iowa - Grinnell College's Alex Doane '28 has been named the Midwest Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week.

Doane, from Honolulu, Hawaii (Punahou School), was a perfect for 4-for-4 as the Pioneers shut out both Illinois College and Monmouth College Saturday. He earned a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles against Monmouth and teamed with Aman Kothari '28 to win 6-2 at the top doubles spot. In the Illinois College victory, Doane won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and joined Kothari for a 7-5 win at No. 1 doubles.

Grinnell owns a 191-match winning streak against MWC foes and has posted 35 shutouts in the last 41 meetings with league opponents.
