GRINNELL, Iowa – Following a perfect weekend at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawk Invitational, Grinnell College's Pari Chavan '27 has been named the Midwest Conference Women's Tennis Performer of the Week.
 
Chavan, from Mumbai, India (Saint Xaviers College), got her season off on a strong note, winning the No. 1 singles title. Chavan cruised through the first two rounds, winning 6-0, 6-1 against a foe from UW-La Crosse and then beating a woman from the host school 6-4, retired. In the title match, Chavan emerged victorious over Xingchen Liu of Carthage in a 6-2, 5-7, 10-8 thriller. Grinnell won the team title for the third year in a row.
