Grinnell men's track and field team enjoys big performances at Wartburg meet

Results

WAVERLY, Iowa - Grinnell College's men's track and field team got two event victories and several other high finishes at the Liz Wuertz Invitational hosted by Wartburg College Saturday.

Ian Clawson '26 took top honors in the weight throw with a toss of 17.40 meters, while Jack Novelle '26 won the high jump with a leap of 1.91 meters.

Murphy Dykstra '27 and Casey Oliveira '27 were third and fifth in the triple jump with leaps of 12.63 and 11.52 meters, respectively, while Jesse Miller '28 and Jess Christensen '29 were sixth and seventh in the long jump at 6.48 meters and 6.13. Caleb Leopoldo '28 went 13.70 meters in the weight throw, eighth-best in GC history.

George Stenberg '29, Andy Chestovich '26, Caden Pfister '27 and Linus O'Brien '28 finished third in the 4x400-meter relay in 3 minutes, 25.91 seconds. That ranks second all-time at GC.

O'Brien was fifth in the 400 in 50.72, second in program history, while Miller, Eli Grzelewski '29 and Pfister were fifth, sixth and eighth in the 200 in 22.79, 22.79 and 22.80. Those times are third, third and fifth in GC history.

Stenberg, Jake Logue '28 and Grzelewski were third, sixth and seventh in the 60 in 7.00, 7.09 and 7.11. Greyson Imm '28 was third in the 5000 in 15:47.64, Aidan Michaelson '28 took sixth in the 3000 in 8:57.92 and Christensen and Ilem Leisher '27 were fifth and eighth in the 60 hurdles in 8.49 and 8.82.

In the mile, Chestovich ran 4:23.95 which ranks eighth in GC history.
