Fadden punches ticket to NCAA D-III Indoor Nationals in 60, 200

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Lucas Fadden '26 became just the second Grinnell College men's track and field athlete to qualify for indoor nationals by punching his ticket to the 2026 NCAA Division III Championships in both the 60-meter dash as well as 200 dash.

The meet is slated for this Friday and Saturday at the Birmingham Crossplex. Fadden's 60 prelim is at 2:15 p.m. local time Friday, while the 200 prelim is slated for 4:30 p.m. Both finals will be Saturday, with the 60 set for 11:10 a.m. and the 200 at 5:25 p.m.

Fadden enters the meet with the second-best time in the 60 at the D-III level in 6.66 seconds. His 200 clocking of 21.40 ranks 10th. The leader in both events is Dylan Doss of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with times of 6.65 and 21.07.

Grinnell's only other national indoor qualifier was Jonathan Lave in 1990. He went on to finish third in the 1500.
