Roark cruises to victory in 800 at Augustana Meet of Champions

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Hannah Roark '26 raced to victory in the 800-meter run to lead the charge by Grinnell College's women's track and field team at the Augustana College Meet of Champions on Saturday.

Roark outlasted a field of 63 others to win in 2 minutes, 19.53 seconds. She beat the runner-up by more than 2 seconds.

Sindri Bonner '28 and Noelle Vu '28 were sixth and eighth in the race with times of 2:23.87 and 2:24.24, respectively. Tennyson Shultz '28 was 14th in 2:27.12

On Friday for Grinnell, Juniper Schwartzman '27 threw 33.98 meters in the javelin to finish seventh. Kylie Galowitz '26 recorded a personal-best toss of 36.84 meters in the discus. That ranks 10th in GC history.
