Shirlene Luk ’15 from Grand Forks, N.D. (Red River), had a big weekend for the Pioneers, winning three matches including both of her contests at No. 1 singles. She defeated Lake Forest College’s top player 6-3, 7-6 and then earned a 6-3, 6-3 decision against her opponent from Knox College.

Additionally, she teamed with Sadhana Athreya for an 8-1 victory at No. 1 doubles against Knox as the Pioneers won the match 9-0 to secure a spot in the four-team Midwest Conference Tournament.

For the season, Luk is 11-3 in singles play and owns an 8-4 record with Athreya in doubles.
