Grinnell women's soccer team loses close contest to Carroll in MWC Tournament

Box Score The Grinnell College women's soccer team lost a 1-0 decision to Carroll University Friday in the opening round of the Midwest Conference Championships at De Pere, Wis.

The lone goal of the game came in the 42nd minute by Sam Gavin.

Grinnell had four shots on the day, with two coming from Rachel Weinstein '13 and one each from Eden Marek '15 and Rachael Koester '13.

Grinnell keeper Jordan Young '14 had four saves in the contest.

Carroll, 10-8-1, moves to the title game Saturday where it will face either St. Norbert College or Lawrence University.

Grinnell, tri-champs of the MWC, finishes at 10-6-2.
