Box Score LAKE FOREST, Ill. – A goal in the eighth minute proved to be the difference as the Lake Forest College women's soccer team clipped Grinnell College 1-0 in Midwest Conference action Saturday.

The goal was scored by Holly Lesperance, her fourth of the year.

Lake Forest won the shots battle 12-7, with seven women having one shot each for Grinnell. They were Rachael Koester '13, Kathryn Vincent '13, Patty Murphy-Geiss 14, Eva Smith '16, Kristen Stacey '16, Sarah Jensen '15 and Maggie Mamantov '16.

Jordan Young '14 worked the first half at goal for Grinnell, earning two saves, while Katy Oldach '16 had three saves in the second half.

Grinnell is now 0-1 in the MWC and 0-4-1 overall, while Lake Forest moved to 1-0 in the league and 3-4 in all contests.

The Pioneers have another road contest Sunday when they take on Carroll University at Waukesha, Wis. Game time is 11 a.m.
