Grinnell women's soccer team runs shutout string to 4 with 2-0 win over Coe

Box Score CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Grinnell College women's soccer team ran its unbeaten streak to four matches while posting its fourth shutout in a row Sunday in a 2-0 victory at Coe College.

Jordan Young '14 and Katy Oldach '16 combined on the eighth shutout of the season for the Pioneers, who improved to 9-4-1 overall. Young had three saves and Oldach one.

With the setback, Coe fell to 3-10-1.

After a scoreless first half, Andie Semlow '16 found the back of the net in the 79th minute for her first goal of the season. Maddie Gray '16 had the assist, her first of the year.

Just four minutes later, Patty Murphy-Geiss '14 tallied her team-high sixth goal with assists by Dabney Hofammann '15 and Julia Sauerhaft '15. It was Hofammann's third assist of the year and Sauerhaft's first.

Grinnell won the shots battle 15-8, with Kristen Stacey '16 taking four and Semlow two.

Grinnell returns to Midwest Conference play Saturday when Ripon College visits Springer Field on Senior Day. Action begins at 11 a.m.
