Box Score GALESBURG, Ill. – Grinnell College's women's soccer team got all the scoring they'd need in the first half as they blanked Knox College 2-0 in a steady rain Saturday.
The Pioneers dominated the contest, outshooting the Prairie Fire 34-1 while moving to 4-1 in the Midwest Conference and 7-4 in all contests.
Hannah Truesdale '17 scored on a penalty kick in the 29th minute for her first goal of the season.
Dabney Hofammann '15 added a goal in the 35th minute, her second of the season.
Jordan Young '14 earned the win at keeper for the Pioneers. She worked the first 45 minutes in goal, while
Katy Oldach '16 worked the final 45.
Eva Smith '16 and Truesdale each had six shots for Grinnell, while
Patty Murphy-Geiss '14 and
Claire Ruegg '15 had four apiece.
Kristen Stacey '16 and
Hannah Safter '14 took three apiece.
With the loss, Knox fell to 0-4 in league play and 5-6 in all contests.
Grinnell has another league contest Sunday, playing at Illinois College. Action begins at noon.
