Box Score GRINNELL, Iowa - Central College scored a goal in the fifth minute and it help up the rest of the way as the Dutch defeated Grinnell College's women's soccer team 1-0 at Springer Field Wednesday.

Grinnell dominated the shots battle, winning it 17-8. Elle Silverman '15 had five of the Pioneers' shots, while Carolyn Silverman '17, Mackenzie Shanahan '14, Maddie Gray '16 and Hannah Safter '14 added two apiece.

Jordan Young '14 played the first half at keeper for Grinnell and had three saves, while Katy Oldach '16 had two saves in the second half.

Both teams are now 3-2 on the season.  Grinnell opens Midwest Conference play next Tuesday at Cornell College. The contest begins at 4:30 p.m.
