Nationally-ranked Augustana defeats Pioneer women's soccer team

Box Score ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Augustana College, ranked 16th nationally and third regionally, earned a 4-0 women's soccer victory over Grinnell College in non-conference play Sunday.

The winners got out to a 3-0 halftime lead while improving their record to 7-0-2. Grinnell is now 6-4.

Augustana won the shots battle 29-9. Kristen Stacey '16 and Hannah Truesdale '17 both had two shots for the Pioneers, while Eden Marek '15, Pauline Zheng '14, Hannah Safter '14, Nora Sahel '17 and Sarah Jensen '15 had one apiece.

Jordan Young '14 played keeper for Grinnell in the first half and made seven saves, while Katy Oldach '16 worked the second half and had four.

Grinnell jumps back into Midwest Conference play Saturday with a contest at Knox College. Action in Galesburg, Ill., begins at 11 a.m.
