Box Score BELOIT, Wis. – The Grinnell College women's soccer team posted its fourth shutout in Midwest Conference play Saturday afternoon, shutting down Beloit College 2-0.
Keeper
Katy Oldach '16 recorded four saves for the Pioneers, who improved to 4-2 in the league and 7-6 overall. Beloit dipped to 0-5 in the MWC and 3-9-1 overall.
Grinnell scored goals in each half, with
Annika Helverson '18 burying a shot in the 40th minute and
Eva Smith '16 in the 48th. It was Helverson's second goal of the year and Smith's first.
Lauren Hurley '18 assisted the latter goal, her first assist of the season.
Grinnell won the shots battle 18-4, with
Kristen Stacey '16 taking four of the Pioneers' shots and Smith,
Elle Silverman '15 and
Carolyn Silverman '17 two each.
Grinnell steps out of league play Sunday to play at Rockford College, starting at 11 a.m.
