Box Score MONMOUTH, Ill. – The Grinnell College women's soccer team inched even closer to qualifying for the Midwest Conference Tournament with a 1-0 victory over Monmouth College Saturday afternoon.
 
The Pioneers, who recorded their ninth shutout of the season, moved to 6-2-1 in league play and 10-6-1 overall. Monmouth dipped to 2-6 in the MWC and 4-13 overall.
 
The Pioneers' Katy Oldach '16 had another stellar effort at keeper, recording five saves.
 
Grinnell's Kristen Stacey '16 scored the lone goal of the contest, her third of the season, in the 53rd minute after the match was scoreless at halftime.
 
Grinnell won the shots battle 15-5. Carolyn Silverman '17 and Elle Silverman '15 took three shots each, while Lauren Hurley '18, Stacey, Dabney Hofammann '15 and Francesca Varias '18 added two each.
 
The Pioneers wrap up their regular season next Saturday at Ripon College. The contest begins at 1:30 p.m.
