Box Score GRINNELL, Iowa - The Grinnell College football team celebrated Senior Day in style Saturday, rolling over Lawrence University 52-14 in a Midwest Conference Championship Weekend contest at Rosenbloom Field.
 
Senior 
Jacob Meixler '15 tied a school record with four touchdown catches as the Pioneers finished the season with a 3-7 mark. 
 
His four TDs tied the record set in 1998 by David Snider and again in 2010 by Robert Seer.
 
Defensively, 
David Ternes '15 recorded a game-high 13 tackles while finishing his career second on Grinnell's all-time list with 418.
 
Jacob Beecher '16 added eight tackles and 
Daniel Munger '15 had seven. 
 
Sam Poulos '16 connected on 12-of-16 passes for 214 yards and five TDs. The latter mark is tied for third in school history.
 
Meixler had four catches for 107 yards, while 
Zach McGriff '18 added four catches for 71 yards. 
Carson Dunn '18 led the rushing attack with 86 yards.
 
The Pioneers showed they meant business from the start, shooting out to a 21-0 lead by the end of the first period.
 
On the opening drive, Poulos connected with Meixler on a 32-yard scoring strike. 
Graham Fisher's '16 extra point made it 7-0 with 10:52 left.
 
Grinnell later added a seven-play, 71-yard drive that included a 48-yard pass from 
Harrison Hoegh '18 to McGriff. 
Jacob Bernholtz '17 finished things off with a 4-yard TD run. Fisher's extra point made it 14-0 with 3:45 left.
 
Grinnell made it 21-0 on its next drive when Poulos found Bernholtz on a 58-yard TD pass with 1:38 left. Fisher again kicked the extra point.
 
Ternes intercepted a pass late in the first period which led to a second-quarter touchdown. On that play, Poulos found Meixler with a 7-yard strike. Fisher's extra point made it 28-0 with 14:55 left.
 
Grinnell added another score with 6:28 left when Meixler caught a 33-yard TD pass from Poulos. Fisher's extra point made it 35-0.
 
Lawrence scored near the end of the half to make it 35-7 at intermission.
 
The Pioneers tacked on three more scores in the third period. Poulos found 
Aamir Walton '15 on a 19-yard TD pass with 12:32 left, and Hoegh hit Meixler with a 35-yard TD pass at the 7:37 mark. 
 
Fisher, who kicked both extra points on those TDs, added a 39-yard field goal with 3:31 left to push Grinnell ahead 52-7.
 
Lawrence, 2-8 on the season, managed a touchdown in the fourth period to complete the scoring.
