MWC Women's Soccer Tournament PreviewLAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Grinnell College women's soccer team will compete in its fourth Midwest Conference Tournament in a row, and 14th in the past 16 seasons, this weekend.

Grinnell, the fourth seed in the tourney, finished 6-3-1 in league play and is 10-7-1 in all contests. Grinnell takes on top-seeded Lake Forest College at 2 p.m. Friday in the semifinals on the latter's field.

Lake Forest, 10-0 in league play and 18-0 overall, is ranked No. 1 in the NCAA's North Region and 15th nationally.

A month ago, Grinnell lost a narrow 2-1 decision to the Foresters.

The Pioneers' offense has been sparked by
Carolyn Silverman '17, who has team-highs of eight goals and four assists.

Kristen Stacey '16 and
Annika Helverson '17 each have three goals, while Hofammann and
Elle Silverman have three assists each.

Katy Oldach '16 has a .876 save percentage and 0.90 goals against average.

Lake Forest has been led by Michelle Greeneway, who has 27 goals and nine assists. Holly Lesperance has 11 goals and 10 assists, Nina Perkkio six goals and five assists and Kayla Wuest five goals and six assists. Sam Hills has 17 assists.

Keeper Rachel Tenuta has a .831 save percentage and 0.74 goals against average.

The other semifinal pits Ripon College and Carroll University at 11 a.m. The winners meet at 2 p.m. Saturday, with the champion claiming the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
