Box Score LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Grinnell College women's soccer team saw its successful season come to an end Friday afternoon as the Pioneers lost 7-1 to nationally-ranked Lake Forest College in the semifinals of the 2014 Midwest Conference Tournament.
Grinnell finishes its campaign with a 10-8-1 record, which ties for the second-most wins for the program since 2008. Lake Forest, ranked 15th in NCAA Division III and first in the region, improved to 19-0.
Lake Forest grabbed a 6-0 first-half lead. The Foresters made it 7-0 in the second half before Grinnell got on the board when
Maddie Gray '16 converted on a penalty kick in the 74th minute. It was Gray's first score of the year.
Lake Forest won the shots battle 16-10.

Francesca Varias '18 had two shots each for the Pioneers, while

Hannah Truesdale '17,
Lilyrose Weiss '18 and Gray added one apiece.

Lake Forest will meet Ripon College Saturday for the title.
