Box Score ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Grinnell College women's soccer team lost a 3-2 overtime thriller to Macalester College Friday night at the ACM Soccer Showcase.

After a scoreless first half, Macalester got on the board in the 48th minute. However, Grinnell roared back as first-team All-Midwest Conference performer Elle Silverman '15 recorded a goal in the 59th minute.

Macalester answered with a score in the 73rd minute, but the Pioneers tied things in the 86th minute when Lilyrose Weiss '18 scored after Dabney Hofammann '15 chipped a ball over the keeper to the right side of the crease.

The contest went to overtime from there when Macalester scored three minutes in to improve to 2-0 on the season. Grinnell is now 1-1.

Grinnell had 12 shots in the game, including two each by Eva Smith '16, Carolyn Silverman '17, Weiss and Katharine Richards '18. Keeper Katy Oldach '16 recorded 11 saves.

The Pioneers continue the tourney on Sunday with a 2 p.m. contest against Carleton College.
