GRINNELL, Iowa – After enjoying a stellar campaign in which he ranked as one of the top hitters in the country, Grinnell College's
Mac McCain '25 has been honored with a spot on the All-Midwest Conference Baseball first team.
McCain, who split his time between shortstop and third base, was named to the squad at an infield spot.
McCain is sixth in batting average among all NCAA D-III hitters with a .472 average. In MWC games, he was tops in batting average (.490), hits (49) and sacrifice flies (four), second in on-base percentage (.518), on-base plus slugging percentage (1.238) and triples (two) and third in at-bats (100).
McCain also ranked among the league's top 10 in slugging percentage (.720), runs scored (25) and doubles (seven).
MWC regular-season and tournament champion Lawrence University swept the individual awards with Quinn Berglin (Pitcher of the Year), Jacob Charon (Position Player of the Year), Parker Knoll (Newcomer of the Year) and Chris Krepline (Coach of the Year). Ripon College won the Sportsmanship Award.
