Kyra Killion, Christin Hartman sweep Midwest Conference Softball Performer of the Week honors

GRINNELL, Iowa - After enjoying its best spring break trip in history, Grinnell College's softball players have swept the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week honors.

Kyra Killion '24 was named the MWC Position Player of the Week, while Christin Hartman '24 claimed Pitcher of the Week accolades.

Killion, a catcher from Morton, Ill. (Morton), played a big hand in Grinnell going unbeaten in the last week. She hit .600 by going 6-of-10 at the plate with a double, two RBIs and four runs scored. Killion also posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage behind the plate in 17 chances and did not allow a stolen base.

Hartman, from Bettendorf, Iowa (Pleasant Valley), was dominant in the pitching circle during the trip, posting a perfect 0.00 ERA in 11 innings pitched over two games. She struck out four batters and issued only one walk without giving up an earned run in an 11-1, six-inning victory over Washington & Jefferson College. Two days later, she tossed a four-hitter while striking out nine and not giving up a walk in a 15-0, five-inning shutout of Clarkson University. Hartman still has an unblemished ERA of 0.00 in 2024.
