Landers is double champ for Grinnell at Monmouth meet

MONMOUTH, Ill. - Rajanea Landers '28 captured a pair of event titles and two other Grinnell College athletes won one apiece at the Monmouth College Tuesday Night Special track and field meet.

Landers claimed top honors in the 200-meter dash in 27.47 seconds and long jump with a leap of 4.96 meters. Hannah Roark '26 took top honors in the 800 in 2:17.86, which ranks sixth all-time at Grinnell and the best at the school since 2017. Also winning was Jessica Goodman '26 in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:12.18.

Grinnell got runner-up finishes from Goodman in the 100 hurdles (17.07), Josie Shiraz '28 in the 400 hurdles (1:15.31) and the 4x100 relay team of Klaire Thompson '27, Ava Taylor '25, Maile Crowe '25 and Landers (50.98).

Third place went to Taylor in the 100 in 13.25, Thompson in the 200 with a time of 29.03 and Melanie Oden '25 in the long jump with an effort of 4.31 meters. Crowe was fourth in the 100 in 13.29, the same placing as Kylie Galowitz '26 in the shot put with an effort of 11.07 meters. Isis Ovelar '28 placed fifth in the 200 in 33.38.
